What is this all about?
Simply put, we know that play is vital to EVERYONE. So, we build playgrounds where everybody can play, together!
The Summer(ish) Soiree is our annual fund-, friend-, and fun-raiser as we work to make this mission possible. Trust us, we have some serious fun with it!
How do I buy tickets? How much are they?
Get ’em online. Individual tickets are $175. Youth Tickets are $75.
What can I expect?
Please join us for dinner, live music, raffle, auction, inspiration, & more! We are thrilled to welcome Civil Rights Icon and Activist, Ms. JoAnne Bland. Ms. Bland is the founder of Foot Soldiers Park and Co-Founder of the National Voting Rights Museum in Selma, Alabama, future site of the John R. Lewis Memorial Playground in partnership with Harper’s Playground.
Expect fun! Expect to be inspired! Expect to feel good about lending your support!
The Summer(ish) Soiree is a beautiful blend of socializing with friends new and old, inspirational speakers, a chance to go home with some seriously cool auction and raffle packages, great food and drink (all included with the price of your ticket), and an opportunity to share your epic dance moves. Plus, incredible storytelling where you’ll learn more about Harper’s Playground’s mission and how you can help to make our work possible.

My kids have come in the past. Can they come this year?
Kids are always welcome. You can find youth tickets available for purchase.
Should I wear clothes? If so, what kind?
Yes, you should probably wear something. As far as what, we’ll leave it to you to interpret what our go-to “playfully dressy” attire means for your signature style.
Where is the party?
We’re partying at Avenue – 631 NE Grand Ave., Portland, OR 97232.
Keep in mind that beer/wine is included with your event ticket. Please plan accordingly to travel with a designated driver or make arrangements to get home safely via Uber, Lyft, public transportation, or a nice walk back to your hotel room.
Where do I park?
The event is in the Lloyd District and offers street, garage parking, and access by public transportation. View this parking map for assistance on finding a place to park.
When does registration close?
Online registration closes when tickets sell out!
Will there be food and drink?
Of course! Included in the price of your ticket are a selection of appetizers, beer and wine, dinner, and desserts. Come hungry. It’s going to be delicious!
Note that we will have veggie-friendly and gluten-free options, as well.
Do I have to arrive on time? Do I have to stay until 9:30pm?
We do appreciate your prompt arrival so that everyone is ready for the party to start. Food, drinks, and entertainment will begin right away, then we have a short program scheduled. Afterwards, we’re pretty sure you’ll want to stick around for more music and to see if you’ve won a raffle prize. But, life happens, scheduling is tough, and we’re pretty easy going.

Where does my ticket money go? / How much of my ticket is tax deductible?
To build more inclusive playgrounds!
A portion of your ticket price covers the cost of your meal. The other portion is tax deductible and goes directly to Harper’s Playground’s mission, helping us to develop increasingly more inclusive, creative, engaging playgrounds in our revolutionary model.
Harper’s Playground has become SO much more than one playground. We may be small yet, we are mighty, we are innovative, and our momentum is ever growing. Your support will help communities to develop inclusive playgrounds of their own.
