Equipment Spotlight – Caleb’s Friendship Swing

The We-Go-Swing at Marshall Park is being installed in memory of Caleb Sears. From Caleb’s mom: “Caleb was a bright light in the world in his 14 years with us. He embraced old and new friends alike, with an invitation to sit next to him and join his world of hugs, laughter, and play. We think this swing embodies his sweet spirit and know that he would have loved to play on it! In Caleb’s short life, his playground experiences were mostly at his physical therapy appointments. We know he would have loved to have had a playground nearby that was safe and inclusive of his needs. We wish he would have had access to an amazing playground like this. We find hope in knowing children like Caleb will get to experience the joy of play, and be seen and known in their community.”

Harper’s Playgrounds are known for their radically inclusive designs. Every detail counts.

The We-Go-Swing is the first no-transfer inclusive swing that can be integrated into the playground setting and invites kids of all abilities to get in on the fun. The spacious entry deck for the accessible playground swing can be connected to a ramp for easy roll-on access, and there’s no need to transfer from a mobility device to take part in the fun. Plus, there is plenty of room for children of all ages and their caregivers to sit and/or stand together and enjoy a ride.
