Thanks to Harper’s Playground involvement on the Foot Soldiers Park project, G Cody QJ Goldberg and I recently had the opportunity to be part of an incredible gathering in Boston, hosted by MASS Design Group.
With the generous support of the Mellon Foundation, 90+ changemakers from 47 organizations convened to share projects at the intersection of social justice, public memory design, art, placemaking and community building.
✨Highlights for me were:
● Building community with peers tackling complex challenges in inclusive design and programming.
● Forging connections with collaborators to amplify collective impact.
🙏 Thank you so much to MASS Design Group (spearheaded by the amazing Jha D Amazi) and the Mellon Foundation for uniting this group of practitioners and for catalyzing a deeper sense of shared purpose, urgency and action.
I feel both humbled and energized to apply these insights to our mission of creating radically inclusive play spaces for social connection and belonging.
